Dolphina

Dolphina is a Mademoiselle with a mission to make a difference in our world one Goddess at a time. She founded her company, GoddessLife, with this premise, and has guided its growth into an international feminine force. A powerful teacher, author, activist, and businesswoman, Dolphina has overcome tremendous odds to create a company who's sole purpose is to support and empower women. From the streets of New Orleans to the sands of Morocco, Dolphina's artistry spans the globe, as she tirelessly works to make women's lives better everywhere.

She was born in San Francisco and began bellydancing at the age of four. When her family moved to Morocco, Dolphina was so enraptured by a bellydancer's performance that her lifelong connection to the ancient, exotic dance was made.

Drawn by her love of dance, Dolphina moved to New York City to study and perform. She has shimmied for bohemians and royalty alike in nightclubs, palaces, fashion shows and movies, including the James Bond, "From Russia with Love" DVD. She eventually left the city on a spiritual quest that brought her to many parts of the world. In the Caribbean, she was involved in a near fatal boating accident, where she was rescued by dolphins that guided her to safety. It was a life-changing event that guided her to her true purpose in life.

Soon after, Dolphina returned to her California roots, where she created The Goddess Workout and began teaching the benefits of Bellydance. "Bellydancing is suddenly the hottest workout and much of the credit goes to a bellydancer named Dolphina, who a year ago released a video called The Goddess Workout (fans include Salma Hayek, Pamela Anderson and Heather Locklear) and began teaching packed classes at CRUNCH Gyms last year," said US Magazine in February 2000. Life as she knew it changed completely when one of her students at Crunch wrote about her class in an episode of a little show called, "Sex and the City".

Women responded to The Goddess Workout DVD by proclaiming its intoxicating appeal was more than just bellydance, but a lifestyle. So, in early 2001, Dolphina founded her company, GoddessLife, on the belief that every woman is a goddess. She is dedicated to empowering women and girls and this GoddessLife philosophy serves as the inspiration to all her DVDs, CDs, books, workshops and retreats.

In 2002, Dolphina opened The Goddess Center, an uber-girly studio in Los Angeles that offers fun classes, one-of-kind workshops, empowering events, luminous parties and a community for fabulous women. In addition, she has been a presenter at the fitness industry's crème de la crème - such as ECA, IDEA and Festival del Fitness in Italy.

Her first book, Bellydance (DK Publishing 2005) has been published in the United States, England, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Switzerland and France. She continues to grow her network of goddesses worldwide by offering workshops at destination spas and Goddess Workout Certification Programs in California, Hawaii and Greece.

In January 2008, Dolphina introduced glamour to the Goddess Workout DVD series with Cardio Burlesque. She is currently working on a webisode series entitled GoddessLife 101.

Dolphina believes, "Life isn't about what you have: it's about what you have to give" and makes it a priority to work closely with such inspiring organizations as Step-Up Women's Network and The Wild Dolphin Foundation. Her love of dolphins and dancing is trumped only by her desire to embrace all of life's experiences and make a difference in the world one goddess at a time.
